Sophie Turner was 21 when she got engaged to Joe Jonas in October 2017. “I said yes,” she wrote on the Instagram announcement, which showed her ring-clad hand resting on his. Now, she’s opening up about accepting a proposal in early adulthood.
In her Rolling Stone cover story—which she shares with Game of Thrones co-star, best friend, and bridesmaid-to-be Maisie Williams—Turner admits that she was “fully preparing myself to be single for the rest of my life.” But then she met Jonas. “I think once you’ve found the right person, you just know. I feel like I’m much older a soul than I am in age. I feel like I’ve lived enough life to know,” she says. “I’ve met enough guys to know—I’ve met enough girls to know. I don’t feel 22. I feel like 27, 28.”
She also went on to say, in terms of her sexuality, “I love a soul, not a gender.”
Turner started on Game of Thrones when she was 13 years old. The show wrapped in 2018, and the final season airs this April.
On James Corden’s Late Late Show, Jonas revealed that he and Turner’s nuptials will take place in summer 2019. “It’s going to be a lot of fun,” the singer added. Their wedding location is unknown, but Us Weekly reported that it is possibly in France.
